Raya Dunayevskaya, philosopher of Marxist-Humanism, was a secretary to Leon Trotsky in exile in Mexico. She developed a theory of sate-capitalism with regard to Russia and as a world-stage of capitalism in the 1940s. In her development from state-capitalist theory to the philosophy of Marxist-Humanism, she translated into English and extensively commented upon essays from Marx's 1844 Economic-Manuscripts and Lenin's Philosophic Notebooks on Hegel's Science of Logic.
For more than four decades Dunayevskaya wrote on the Revolution and its aftermath.
